Is fame destroying an underground artist?

Is the ever rising popularity of drum&bass artists having an impact on their underground values? In this short article we’d like to address the transformation of an underground artist to a radio hit maker hitting the stages at major festivals.

One side of it is money, but there’s nothing wrong about that, most of us would probably welcome the opportunity to make some more dough. The other thing is fame, providing a little ego boost, but again, nothing wrong about that – as long as you do it for the deeper purpose – spreading the love and happiness through the beats. With fame comes responsibility and as people start to see you as their role model, this becomes a good chance to spread the right values like tolerance and understanding.

Musicians transform and create new things all the time, that’s the nature of their job. You may not like the new way your favourite artist is heading, but as long as your respect him as a human being, the scene will be flourishing forever. Think twice before judging someone famous, there may be something more to it
