But you stop for second and start to wonder… where did this all begin? I’m sure this type of sound wasn’t there from the beginning.

And you are right! It wasn’t. Roots of the original drum & bass sound, a.k.a Hardcore & Jungle date way back to early 90s, pushed forward by artists like LTJ Bukem, Dilinja and other names I am sure you’ve never heard of (neither did I)

Now don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot to talk about even before 90s, but as the article below mentions, that’s when it really took off and the typical imprint started to form itself.
